The lid
closer/locker is a stand-alone piece of equipment that accepts
standard, hinged acetate trays with open lids. The system will
close the lid, lock then release the closed clam shell to down stream
processes. The lid closer/locker is unique because it allows lids
with recessed button locking tabs or full perimeter tabs to be
used. The recessed locks result in a smaller tray and increased
shipping efficiency. The system is also unique because of
the flexibility it provides for future packages. With a quick,
tool-less change over, the system will accommodate a completely
different package.

The lid
closer/locker uses a flat-belt conveyor to transport the tray from the
loading area into the closer/locker area, hence it will interface with
any existing packaging operation.
